Our Model of Reality is Deepening and Expanding
Scientists are finding out that consciousness does not begin and end with the brain; it infuses our entire being, permeating every cell in the body. The human nervous system is a synergistic one in which perception profoundly influences physiology. Conversely, subtle energy fields at the cellular level form the primary causal level of life experience, the matrix which gives birth to the other layers. A change at this basal energetic layer transforms our entire being, including the processes of the subconscious and conscious mind.
As principles of formerly exotic and esoteric ancient mind-body disciplines become validated by modern clinical studies, the question is no longer if, but rather how mind-body practices may best help us achieve optimal well being and our highest human potential.
Everything is Energy
Chinese internal martial arts or qigong aim to cultivate the “Three Treasures” of Jing 精 (essence), Qi 氣 (energy), and Shen 神 (spirit). The ultimate goal is to harmonize these energetic properties by transmutation: refining essence into energy 鍊精化氣, refining energy into spirit 鍊氣化神, and finally refining spirit and reverting to emptiness 鍊神還虛 – where there is no dichotomy between will and action.
